Playing Catch up!

Another few months have gone by so quickly and so it is time to play catch up yet again!! I am sure I am forgetting something but I will try and focus on the highlights!

Kaitlyn continues to be the most adorable little girl in the whole world and is spoiled on a daily basis!! I try not to do this, but I can't resist those beautiful brown eyes! She is now 7 months old believe it or not! She says da da constantly, sits up like a champ, army crawls, loves baby food, and most importantly she is a good sleeper!

As Tyler continues to grow and become more aware of his surroundings Christmas time continues to be a special time of year for us and him. He has the little people nativity set that he plays with, enjoys plugging in the Christmas lights with daddy every night, loves looking at Christmas lights, lets not forget he can now open presents by himself, and he enjoys giving presents and love to other people. His is one of the crafts we did as a family. Tyler loves candy so this was right up his alley!

We will post more after all of the Christmas festivities have come to an end. Right now we are trying to get prepared for the big day. No matter how hard I try to get everything ready and not be stressed I always end up rushing at the end!! Ugh! We are enjoying the season though, and have enjoyed spending time during Christmas parties and get togethers this season!

These are some pics my talented friend Tasha took of the kids in her basement studio. How convenient is that! They turned out great and you can see more pics and info on her at this sitehttp://www.natashaleighphotography.com/Customergalleries/Reid

Merry Christmas!

October Update

David's Birthday Celebration

As you can tell from the above picture, here we are the exhausted mommies after a fun pumpkin carving party for David and our friend Tom. They share a birthday and got to share in a birthday party with chili, friends, and fun. What more could they ask for! David never asks for much on his birthday so I usually have to come up with something on my own. This year I decided to get him a ticket to the MU homecoming game. To bad we lost:( But I think he had a good time tailgating with friends anyways. He also got a new pair of kicks, Samba Soccer shoes. Old school for sure!!! Happy Birthday David!

Homecoming Parade

We decided to take Tyler to the homecoming parade this year, despite the cold and early start time it was worth it to support our Tigers! We missed the free pancake breakfast but made it in time for the floats. The parade lasted over 2hrs so we decided to go home early, but had a fun time none the less. Tyler enjoyed the bands and danced along.

Halloween Festivities
Bob the Builder

Miss Pumpkin

Our visit to Grandma and Grandpa! As you can see Grandma was very generous with the Halloween candy. Tyler had candy for each hand!

David also went out of town for a week, boo! But we were blessed that our friends in KC were so nice to let us visit! We had a great time catching up with everyone! It is hard to be a single parent!!! Don't know how people do that, but I have a lot of respect for them!!! I may be missing something, but I think that is all for now!!

Kaitlyn being cute

Kaitlyn at 5 months!!!!!

Kaitlyn loves to talk to her daddy and they have their own special language as you can see! I have tried to get her to do zerberts for me, but she insists on only doing them for daddy!!! So, so, cute!!

Kaitlyn is now 5 months old, so as you can see I am over due for a blog post! She continues to be so, so smiley, which we love! She has been rolling over on to her belly since she was 3 months. This is a good and bad thing. She lies on her belly which then makes her spit up like crazy, but on the bright side she can roll all over the place and get to things she wants! She can get on all 4's but is not able to pull her big noggin up at the same time, so I don't for see her crawling any time soon! She is also eating baby cereal, which she absolutely loves! This is so different than her brother, who never wanted to slow down to eat! Kaitlyn adores Tyler, which is a good thing since he is always in her face and messing with her!! I am glad that her face lights up when he interacts with her and I hope that they will always get along, ha!!

I love my husband!

Well of course we all love our husbands! But I really, really, really, love mine! We have now been married for 6 years and he still appreciates me and gives me the same pampering and spoiling as if we were still just dating (as you will see below). You and I know that I don't deserve him and that I am not nearly as thoughtful, loving, and patient as he is, but I am so grateful for him! I love you honey!!!!

David takes great care of our children which has made me fall in love with him even deeper. I wanted to go back to work one day a week and David has supported me in this. It is not an easy day for him because he has to get up, get himself ready for work, get the kids ready for daycare, drop them off, pick them up, feed and bathe them, and put them to bed all on his own. Seriously, would your man sign up for this?! He does a great job plus he spoils me when I get home from my 12 hours shifts. I have only been back to work for 4 shifts and he has gotten me flowers delivered to work or waiting for me when I get home. I have also had crackers and cheese with my favorite beverage awaiting me (Dr Pepper!). He is a wonderful man and I could not contain myself any longer!!! I love you David!!!!

3 months old!!!!!

Here she is! Our princess is 3 months old already!! It is so amazing how quickly the time has passed with her. She is still as sweet as can be!
She continues to smile like crazy! She is also cooing, which is so adorable as well. I really can't get enough of her!
We did not go anywhere with the hat, just playing dress up! Kaitlyn is doing wonderful. We have gotten her to take a bottle which is nice and she is getting up once a night which is great as well. Hopefully she will continue on this pattern and sleep the whole night soon! I am going back to work one day a week in the middle of the month so that would really help the transition!
We had a visit from Grandpa and Grandma Reid for Grandma's birthday. It was a great time and the kids enjoyed being with their Grandparents. I think they have more energy than I do!
We hope Grandma had a good Birthday, she deserves it, she is a wonderful person and great example to us all!
This is how much of the visit went! The grandkids have a special bond to their grandma, we are so blessed to have them close by!
Finally a picture of the happy family!

Baby Blessing

What a blessing and comfort it is to have the Priesthood in our home. It is also wonderful that David was able to give our beautiful daughter a baby blessing this past Sunday. We appreciate all the family and friends that were able to attend and hope they all felt the sweet spirit which I felt. I love our daughter so much and know she is a daughter of our Heavenly Father who has great potential in this life.

I could not help myself from putting this adorable pic up as well! Tyler adores his cousins and has the most fun with them. Claire is so beautiful, talented, thoughtful, and sweet and Jeremiah is so much fun as well! I really wish he lived closer to them, but it was nice that they came up to be with us on this day.

Happy Fathers Day!

This years Father's Day was double the fun now that we have two kids to share the day with and give daddy extra love and attention! We are so thankful for David and for the wonderful father he is. Every night when David comes home from work Tyler gets so excited, he is right there at the door waiting for him and literally has to be careful not to knock Tyler over when he opens the door! There is something special about a daddy. He is the one who rough houses around and is way more fun to play with than mommy! Kaitlyn loves her daddy as well. She already has a special bond with David and can always get her to sleep with his gentle hugs and squeezes. Tyler decided to make his daddy a special picture frame he painted himself so that when daddy misses him at work he can look at the frame. Tyler and David also like to watch baseball together so he thought it would be fun to get him Cardinals tickets. With A LOT of help from Uncle Larry we were able to make this wish come true!!!

Larry treated David to a VIP day at the ballpark. This was a day that most guys would dream about! David was granted a VIP press pass that granted him access to the field, dugout, and the inner workings of the ball park. This is a pic of the cards warming up before the game.

After the tour all the fans were granted access to the park and the game began. Larry yet again hooked David up with yummy food and box seats in front of first base. Hello Pujouls!!! This shot is of one of the Cardinals stars, Molina.

Here's a pic of beautiful Bush Stadium. There is just something about being at the ball park that is so fun and exciting! Especially Bush Stadium! This year the All Star game will be at the Park so it will be extra fun to watch. Thanks again Larry, David had an awesome time and this will be a great memory to look back on!

Cuter by the minute!

Kaitlyn is almost 6 weeks old! The days go by so much faster with 2 little ones at home! It is crazy how I can go a whole day and forget to go to the bathroom! We are continuing to adjust to our new addition. I have managed to take them both swimming and to the mall which is an accomplishment for me, especially because I am a walking zombie at times! As you can see from the above picture they both are well worth the hard work!

Gotta love the baby bling! Thanks again Karra!!
My child is already a fashionista (like anyone doubted she would be). The 2 dresses above are vintage. They used to be my baby dresses! How cute, huh?!

I don't remember Tyler smiling this much so early on! I love it! She will just randomly start smiling, I am not sure what brings it on, but it is adorable! She is still working on a sleeping routine. Usually she will sleep 4-5hrs at night before waking up for the first time and then she gets up one or two more times. She is the most alert baby ever. It is like she has tooth picks holding her eyes open sometimes, she is so wide eyed! She wants to know what is going on in this world and does not want to miss out on a thing. Sometimes she is real sleepy and other times she is more interested in what is going to in this world. It is hard to really tell what her temperment is so far, but she is so adorable and I am really enjoying being home with her at this time!

2 years old!

I have a 2 year old!! I can not believe it has been two years since my baby boy was born. He is so handsome and adorable, I sometimes just can't get enough of him! Tyler is a smart and sweet little man and has blessed out life with his love and we are so grateful for him. He is very energetic and keeps us on the go all of the time. He loves to run, jump, and climb on anything he can! He also loves to be outside and explore. He can be occupied by almost anything and loves to learn how things work and then put together and take things apart, over and over again! He has also started to take an interest in coloring and painting, as well as helping me around the house. He takes a wash cloth and says "clean" and then continues to help wash windows, etc. He is also starting to take an interest in television. When he gets up in the morning he goes directly to the couch and want to watch Raffi. He sings different childhood songs and Tyler adores him and dances along with the music. The thing I love the most about my son is how caring he is to me and our family. He is especially caring to his little "sissy". If she is crying he always lets me know and will try to help her by putting her binky in her mouth or if she had just gotten up from a nap he will say "hold" and want to care for her. I really to sense his love for his family.
Because Tyler's birthday was 2 weeks after Kaitlyn was born we decided to make the birthday party a little more low key than last year. We had a bbq and invited some friends and family over to help celebrate his special day.
As you can see Tyler was spoiled yet again this year!!!
Here Tyler is with his most favorite present! For some reason he is obsessed with lawn mowers. If he hears someone outside mowing he wants to watch or if we are outside he loves to play with daddy's lawn mower. His expression was priceless when her ripped this piece of plastic open!
I am so thankful to be his mother and will continue to try and enjoy this time with him because it has already gone by too quick!

2 weeks and counting!

We have made it 2 weeks with 2 kiddos!!! To me this is quite the accomplishment! Yes, I know, 2 weeks is just the beginning, but I am taking it day by day, minute by minute. This is my way to deal with this new adjustment period and so far it is working for me and my type A personality! I am hoping to just try and enjoy these 2 beautiful blessings I have and not get to worked up with the bumps in the road that may come up. It has been so wonderful to have my husband home for the past 2 weeks and I feel it has brought us closer together as a family to have this time to get to know our new little one. He is so loving and caring to our children and I appreciate all of the hard work he has done to make our home a happy place. It will be an adjustment when it's just me and the kiddo's. I will be outnumbered!!
Kaitlyn had her 2 week Dr. apt today and has grown an inch plus she is up to 7lbs, 5oz! She is so small, just like my very own baby doll! I am still trying to figure her out. She is so much more alert than Tyler was as a baby. Even after she was born she was just looking around wide eyed. She loves to be swaddled just like her brother did, although she does not sleep as much as her brother!! Some times she is up every 2 hrs at night and sometimes every 4. It's a roll of the dice every night! She is comforted most by being held right now. Some days she wants to be held more than others so like I said I just don't have her figured out yet. I should by now, right, I have already been through this with one, ha!!

Tyler loves his "sissy" as you can see from the pic. We have been trying to get him to just touch her toes because he loves to get really close to her and touch her all over (especially when she is trying to sleep). He has been patient with her for the most part. If he wants something and I am busy with her he usually waits until I am finished with her and is some what patient. The biggest problem is him getting into trouble while I am nursing her. He is quite the Macgyver! He can open all types of child proof door knobs and electrical outlets. As of yesterday he has learned how to open the refrigerator and unlock the dead bolt, plus open the sliding glass door!!! His adjustment when he is away from us has been hard for him. He used to love to go to daycare and nursery at church but since the baby has been born he does not want to go to either. I hear this is normal, so hopefully he will be able to readjust soon. He is a sweet boy:)
Thank you to every one for your love and support, we appreciate it all so much!!

Kaitlyn Marie

Our beautiful little angel has arrived!!! Most of you have already heard thanks to Facebook and email! But I wanted to share some photo's and my thoughts on our new addition to the family.

I was having so many mixed emotions leading up to the delivery of Kaitlyn. Mainly because I was getting so uncomfortable and the thought of having two children to take care of at the same time seemed impossible!! Now that she is here it will be interesting to see what our life will be like and how we will adjust. Of course we would want it no other way and I am completely in love with this precious gift.

Kaitlyn was born May 2 (My mom's birthday as well!), 6lbs 110z, 19inches. My original due date was April 29, so I was so thankful that she decided to come on her own and I did not have to be induced! Kaitlyn was thoughtful enough to let me get a pedi done before I went into labor as well!! I did not start to feel any indication that I was going into labor until around 2pm and at that time I was not sure if I was just feeling my usual uncomfortable pains or if it was something more. So I told David to stop the yard work and take a shower just in case. By 4pm I was feeling contractions and told him to take Tyler to his grandparents. By 5:30 I was in the hospital dilated at 5cm and ready for an epidural. Oh wait! I never got one!! Note to self, if we have another child I will go to the hospital the minute I am feeling uncomfortable and I will try to not be in labor on the weekend when there is only one anaesthesiologist! Of course that part of the pregnancy did not go as planned, but I am thankful that she came out ok and that we are all doing well. I am so thankful for my husband and Heavenly Father who helped me through the experience and know I would not have made it without them. I don't handle pain like that on my own!!

Tyler is adjusting to having a new "sissy" in the house. He has given her hugs and kisses and seems to be patient with her and I at the moment. I don't know if he understands that she is planning on sticking around for a while!!

Of course she has been dolled up many times already and has her own little bracelet and hair bow collection to match her way cute clothes!!! She is adorable with out any accessories, but hey! I can't resist!! I am so so so thankful that I have been blessed with another child and hope that I can raise her to be a good person who is close to her Heavenly Father.

Sissy's Room and Easter

Happy Easter!!!!!!!!!!

We are still trying to get prepared for the new arrival, but as you can see she now has a super cute room to come home to! Thank You to David for his hard work in putting the chair rail up and painting the room.

Tyler's first Easter Egg hunt was a blast! He was so excited to find the eggs and even more excited to see they had candy in them.

He was not excited about wearing the cute little bunny ears and even less enthused about dressing up for Sunday morning, but I must say the pics are adorable!

As many of you know, Tyler is a picky eater and would go a whole day not eating if I would let him. Usually he will play with his food instead of eat it or just throw it on the floor. So it is surprising that he likes olives because they do have a distinct taste to them. Well, today he decided to learn a new trick before eating his olives!

Hopefully we will be updating the blog again soon with baby news!
