Two is better than one!

I am amazed at the love these two children have for one another. I have felt it from the day we brought Kaitlyn home. Tyler truely loves his little sister! When I first brought her home I was worried he would be impatient with us since it would take longer to feed her, get her ready, etc. But he has always had some sort of an understanding about her needs and has been patient with her and me. Tyler has also amazed me at how well he shares with Kaitlyn. When she takes his toys he just goes and gets her something else to play with or lets her have it. I wish he would do this with other kids his own age! This has been such a tremendous help in the transition to 2 kiddos! Tyler also loves to help me feed, dress, and entertain his Sissy. It is so adorable when I pick something pink out of the closet and he goes that's cute! Now that Kaitlyn is older and more aware it is fun to see her face light up when she see's Tyler. Usually in the morning I will get one kid and David will get the other and then we bring them to each other and they just start laughing and smiling, pure joy!
Don't get me wrong, we definetly have our challenges with 2 kids! Tyler can get kind of rough with his sister and we still deal with day to day frustrations! But I do want to focus on the postive and I really am amazed at the bond these 2 share! It is especially nice that Tyler likes to try and entertain her and I totally crack up when he talks baby talk to her, lets me know how silly I sound!
I hope they always have this special relationship and that it continues to grow!

Christmas part 2

Ok, so we do not have any way cute pics of the kids on Christmas morning. I can not really say why that it is. I guess we got so excited opening presents that we forgot to take pics and so the ones we do have are kind of an after thought. Pathetic I know! Kaitlyn is in Halloween PJ's. I was going to change her in the morning for pics but forgot and just now realized it, ugh! Well, we do have good memories though! Tyler is in love with Thomas the train so he got a motorized Thomas Set. We had it all set up and running when he came out Christmas morning. I thought he would be a little more excited about Christmas morning now that he is more aware of Santa and presents but I guess since we had opened presents on Christmas Eve and with some of our family and friends before hand he was over it. We were kind of having to force him into opening all of his gifts, poor kid! Ha!

Kaitlyn had a great time just chillin! She is very observant, always has been, so Christmas morning was very entertaining for her. Here she is with a few of her gifts. Most things are too big for her so we may just wrap them up and give them to her again when she is one! She will never know the difference!!! I really wanted to get her a doll even though she is not ready for them yet, so I did:) Like I said, we can save some of these things for latter! Kaitlyn is doing great! She says MA MA and DA DA and she army crawls like crazy. She is very impressive, she can turn around, back up, and crawl into all kinds of tiny spaces! She can get on all fours to crawl as well, but for some reason prefers to crawl army style.

Tyler has also reached a new milestone, he is in a big boy bed!! We started this on New Years Day. He has done wonderful and it has gone off with out a hitch so far! I am so surprised! No problems with nap time this far either. He does like to sleep sideways or in the crack between the bed and the wall. That can't be comfortable, but this is what he does so we have the safety rail there just in case he falls out while sleeping in one of his crazy positions. He does not like a pillow or blanket on top of him either. The kid does not realize what he is missing!
I am probably jinxing myself, but so far so good! He has always liked to sleep so I guess that is why, don't know. We did not do anything special that I can think of. It is just so odd to me that he will lay in his bed with no problems but if we are out in public the first thing he wants to do is run away from me and not sit still! Whatever. Just glad he is doing well with the adjustment!
So,I can't say I don't use any type of bribery in our household. If Tyler tries to give me any grief about going to bed all I have to say is you can vacuum when you get up and that does the trick. The kid loves to vacuum! It is the most random and crazy thing ever, but if works. I don't know where this obsession came from but he is just amazed by the vacuum! I just had to put that in there because it is something that makes me laugh on a daily basis!
